Highland is the largest local government area in the United Kingdom. It was formed by the old areas of Inverness-shire, Nairnshire, Caithness, Sutherland small parts of Moray & Argyll.
Here you will see very diverse scenery from the rugged scenery of the North West Highlands to the east coast of Scotland. Highland takes in many places such as Inverness the administrative centre. The Islands including the Inner & Outer Hebrides , The Orkneys & Shetland Isles.
I spend at lot of time in this area and is reflected in the images on this site. It doesn't rain all the time! and there is nothing quite like walking along a beautiful sandy beach with no one else in sight
Argyll and Bute is situated in the West of Scotland and includes Loch Lomond Oban Campbeltown and a number of islands such as Mull Tiree, and many others.There is a lot of beautiful scenery in this area and it is an area I visit often and is recommended for a visit.

Situated on the West Coast of Scotland South of Glasgow. It is bordered by North Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway. It includes the town of Ayr Maidens, Maybole . The National Trust for Scotland property Culzean castle & Country Park is located in South Ayrshire. It is well worth a visit. You can visist the castle and Deer park. There are many walks within the park. The Gardens are also worth seeing.
Edinburgh. Situated in the East of Scotland and is Scotland's Capital. There is not much you can say about Edinburgh other than it is a beautiful City, with many great attractions to see. Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street, Many museums and galleries to visit.

Situated in Central Scotland. It was formed by the old Stirlingshire and the south west part of Perthshire. It is bordered by Clackmannanshire, Argyll & Bute , Perth & Kinross, and to the West West Dunbartonshire.The West side of Stirling District borders Loch Lomond within the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. It also includes the Trossachs area with nice scenery, well worth a visit.
